Daol ToFU & Korean BBQ
Korean comfort food, sizzling BBQ, and bubbling tofu stew.
Daol (다올) means “all the blessings will come.”
Sunny chose the name after spending 15 years working in restaurants and cleaning houses while raising two kids on her own. She always believed that if she kept working hard, something good would come from it.
In 2017, she opened Daol on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland.
Today, Sunny is still in the kitchen, making the food she knows and loves: bubbling soft tofu stew, Korean BBQ, bossam, dolsot bibimbap, and banchan made in-house.
Daol is her story, her food, and a place she hopes feels a little like home
